What are some of the side effects of PPA?
A Yale University study shows that women aged 18 to 49 are 16 times more likely than the average person to suffer a hemorrhagic stroke. PPA constricts blood vessels and raises blood pressure. In certain cases, it can cause blood vessels to rupture, leading to bleeding in the brain and stroke.

Based on the serious side effects of PPA, has the FDA done anything?
In November of 2000, the FDA began taking steps to have PPA removed from all drug products. The FDA has asked firms that market pharmaceutical or drug produces containing PPA to voluntarily discontinue marketing them. The FDA has also alerted consumers to the risks associated with the use of products containing PPA.
